"During my oldest child's senior year in high school, I knew that I wanted to have a family portrait taken before my first child left for college.  I also wanted someone to capture my son's athletic talent that he had worked so hard to develop. Shooting both a family portrait and an 'athlete in action' would be a challenge for most photographers.  However, Blake Menzel succeeded at capturing both the essence of my son's talent as well as the unique personalities of each person in my family!

“When my husband and I realized we would have our three daughters and their families in one place at one time, we were excited to document this rare happening, so we contacted Blake Menzel of Menzel Images and set a date to meet at the beach. Blake was fantastic - so easy to work with! Since there are 15 of us (seven grandchildren ages 9 months to 7 years), we expected it would be challenging...but Blake made it easy! 

We didn’t feel rushed, and he was happy to try any ideas we had, plus he had plenty of his own. It was a fun photo shoot on the beach! In addition to "posed" shots we also had quite a few “action” and candid shots where Blake just caught us “in the moment.”

“During our recent family reunion photo shoot at the beach, we were working with a very large group. I had two active boys and an infant myself, plus three other families as well. I had NO idea what to expect from our photo shoot. I was also worried because our shoot was at the beach and it was very windy.

I was completely blown away by how relaxed Blake was. He had great ideas about poses and also more natural, candid shots. Despite the windy day the photos were all gorgeous!!
